KEN HERRERA

Award Winning Storyteller

After 40 years in radio, many of them at flagship stations throughout the Midwest and Washington DC, Ken Herrera's voice and engaging style is instantly recognizable to millions.

Ken recently retired from WISN 1130 AM in Milwaukee where, for the last 11 years, he served as News Director & Anchor for Clear Channel's cluster of 6 stations in the marketplace. 

Prior to joining WISN, Ken spent a total of 9 years as a drivetime host/anchor at two of the largest stations in the Midwest - WBBM in Chicago and WTMJ in Milwaukee. It was during this time that Ken earned one national and four regional Edward R. Murrow Awards along with numerous other accolades for his work from organizations such as the Associated Press.

He also spent 5 years as the afternoon drive anchor of the CBS owned & operated station, WWJ Newsradio 950, in Detroit and a combined 6 years in DC including over 3 years as the morning anchor for NBC Radio as well as news anchor for its "First Light" program which was heard by millions throughout the country.

 

Earlier stops in his career include LA and several major markets throughout Texas which round out an incredible career during which Ken has reported on many world-shaping events.

Originally from Houston and of proud Cuban descent, Ken currently lives outside of Milwaukee with his wife of over 43 years.  They have 2 adult children. 

 

Ken is a member in good standing of the American Federation of Television and Radio Artists (AFTRA-SAG) and is also featured in "Who's Who in Hispanic America".
